Miss Frank had their first live outing on the X Factor last night, the sixth of the final twelve acts to go on stage.
Miss Frank certainly look good. They've got a kind of street-smart hipness about them and you can see that they will definitely appeal to a certain section of the market.
So how was their first live performance on the show, when they sang the Jackson Five's classic “Who's Loving You?”
To be honest, I felt there was good and bad in their performance. On the positive side, Miss Frank seems to be gelling well as a band and all three girls were able to belt it out with gusto during their solo parts. Where things fell down for me was in their vocal harmonies. Quite a lot of the harmonies were out of tune.
Surprisingly (and fortunately for the girls), non of the judges picked up on this. All four of the X Factor judges were unanimous in their praise of Miss Frank as a band. Cheryl Cole told them that they were her favourite group in the competition, although she didn't like the song choice. Simon on the other hand loved the song choice and tried to take credit for putting the band together (although Louis Walsh hotly disputed who's idea it was).
Miss Frank definitely have something fresh about them and could go a long way in the competition if they can get those vocal harmonies sorted. The X Factor judges will probably not be so forgiving on future live shows.
